SERENITY AT SEA can accommodate both attended or unattended scatterings.
Attended Ceremony: Family and/or friends may accompany the cremains aboard the vessel to the dispersal site. A maximum of seven family and/or friends may conduct a short memorial for the deceased, and assist in scattering, if desired. Time from departure to return to the dock, lasts usually one and one-half hours, including the memorial ceremony. If you like, you may bring cut flowers to scatter, and the Captain will read the "Nautical Commitment to the Deep," if requested. The exact coordinates of the disposition site will be provided in case a revisit is desired. All inclusive price is $415.
Additional Destinations: We have a range of 125 nautical miles. We can scatter ashes at La Jolla Cove, Oceanside, Del Mar Race track, or any other requested site on the pacific coast. Additional charges will apply, please call for price.
Economy Scattering : The Captain and crew will conduct the scattering alone in a dignified and respectful manner. Plus you receive the time, date and GPS location of the scattering. No family or friends may accompany the remains aboard the vessel to the dispersal site. All inclusive price is $125.
Digital Photos : We can take digital photos of the scattering and e-mail them to you, along with the time, date and location of the scattering. We call also coordinate the time of the ceremony with you. Additional cost $25.00
Video Taped: All ceremonies may be recorded for all time by Video Taping. The taping is done in a professionally with an introduction, step by step narration of the scattering and laying of flowers. The tape is accompanied by melodious music that brings the complete experience of the scattering to the viewer. Additional charge $150.
Cut Flowers and Flower Wreaths: These adornments may be added at your discretion, Prices vary, depending upon the arrangement desired. Flowers add a whole new beautiful dimension to the ceremony by extending the length of time of the ceremony. Rose petals and other cut flowers are best scattered with the ashes, this provides are beautiful backdrop for ash scattering. A really nice addition to the ceremony is a floating urn. The urn will float about 3-5 minutes before settling slowly beneath the waves. Urns are available through Serenity at Sea for prices between $100.00 and $250.00 depending upon which model is selected. Please use the link below for the "passages" earth urn web site.
Revisit Dispersal Site: You may revisit the exact site of original ash dispersal by providing the Captain the coordinates of the disposition site. All inclusive price is $350.
Reservations: Call (619) 285-5555 to discuss available dates and make reservations. Scatterings can take place at any time. Although the "morning calm" is preferred.
Payment: Payment by cash, money order, certified check, Visa or Mastercard and is expected when the reservation is made.
